Taste for Hope is back this year on May 15, showcasing the best dishes from Ottawa's top chefs.
Since the first Taste for Hope in 2013, almost 300 chefs have participated in the event that supports The Shepherds of Good Hope endeavor to support those experiencing homelessness in Ottawa.
This year’s chefs will feature some familiar faces, like Joe Thottungal of Thali and Coconut Lagoon, and Ben Baird from the Pelican Seafood Market & Grill. There will be some new faces and new tastes in the mix this year, including Wapokunie Riel-Lachapelle from Nikosi Bistro in Wakefield, Ric Watson of Chef Ric’s, and Riley Gilchrist of Aperitivo.
Chef Joe Thottungal – someone who embodies generosity and compassion – shares his thoughts about being a chef for Taste for Hope:
"Participating in Taste for Hope year after year is a privilege as a chef, to share our talent and passion for food while supporting those in need. It's a reminder of the blessings we have and the power of coming together to make a difference."
The evening will offer a variety of ways to support the cause while connecting with leaders in the business community. Guests can participate in a live auction to purchase beds.
Donations can be made on site at a Tree of Hope and a Wall of Tulips.
