In an era where creating restaurant space that is as Instagram worthy as the food, Ottawa’s first Oatmeal Café has managed to achieve success.

With an overall feeling of rustic industrial that honours the original character of the building on the corner of Bank and Glen, in Old Ottawa South, Oat Couture Oatmeal Café serves up sweet and savoury oat bowls to the delight of clients. Chef Ben Baird credits the process of stirring in the flavours to make each bowl delicious from start to finish and describes them as “sort of like risotto”.

The design work is credited to Matt Edwards of Felt Space Design. Existing brick and pine walls have been insulated and preserved and are a stand-out feature in the space. Two hanging chairs suspended within a window area at street view have become Instagram stars for the space.

Stop by for a smoothie, coffee, tea or baked good and of course oat bowl, and be sure to tag @oatcouturecafe on insta!
