In an effort to support the Food Bank of Richmond Ontario and families in need during the holiday season designer Sonya Kinkade has created the first annual Village of Richmond Holiday House and Business Tour.

With a chance to check out six homes and three businesses all decked out for the season during the first weekend of December in support of their community, this event offers more than the promise of inspiring décor.

Sonya, of Sonya Kinkade Design, is a resident of the Village of Richmond and became aware of the Richmond Food Bank’s need for support through her church, where the food bank is housed. She had been thinking about organizing a holiday tour and after a need was established within her communty the dynamic designer put her thoughts into action as she knew the tour had the potential to do some good. By including local businesses Sonya hopes that some needed attention will come their way too.

Sonya is an award-winning designer known for her keen eye to detail. She will be responsible for the festive décor in five of the homes and one of the businesses. Guests can be assured that warmth and hospitality will be felt throughout the day in the town of Richmond on December 2nd. The holiday tour starts at 10 a.m. and runs until 4p.m., followed by the lighting of the park at 4:30p.m. and then the Annual Christmas Parade starting at 5:30p.m.

One home will showcase an antique cutter sleigh ready to be filled with toys for families in need.
