The Ottawa Art Gallery Out There pop-up initiative is delivering a range of engaging and innovative arts activities with community partners and local businesses.

Currently, the Embassy of the Czech Republic is partnering with the non-profit initiative Gallery 17/18 to host art exhibitions in the Embassy building at 251 Cooper Street.  Throughout 2017 and 2018, to commemorate important anniversaries for both Canada and the Czech Republic, 150 years since Canadian Confederation and 100 years since the creation of the independent state of Czechoslovakia, Gallery 17/18 will organize a series of exhibitions featuring artists from both countries.

Microcosmos, the second exhibit of this four-part series, showcases the strikingly colourful paintings of Josef Duchan, described as a microcosm of line, shape, colour and texture.  The exhibition is on view from March 29 to April 27, 2017. There is no charge, and the hours are Monday to Thurs 9-4, Friday 9-2, closed on the weekend.
