Ottawa At Home magazine welcomes Artist and illustrator Andrew King to the Ottawa At Home team for 2017. His column, The Back Story, focuses on some historical elements of the National Capital as we celebrate Canada’s 150th right here in Ottawa.

Artist and illustrator Andrew King grew up on the shores of Lake Ontario near Bath, On. and moved to Ottawa for post-secondary education with three years of Industrial Design studies at Carleton University. Andrew switched gears and graduated from the Television Animation program at Algonquin College and worked on a number of television productions across Canada. Painting soon overtook animation work and Andrew now paints full time from his home studio in Westboro. When Andrew is not painting he is exploring local history mysteries, he has been a contributor to the Ottawa Citizen and currently publishes his own history blog. Ottawarewind.com
