OWNERS: Susan Jacobson opened Jacobsons in 2006, and a second retail store in St. Jovite, Quebec in November 2008. She's about to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the wholesale business that was the impetus for opening a store. "I had talked for a long time saying that I should open a store," she says. "It's given me an insight into what the consumer is looking for in a store from the retail perspective, and what my customer is looking for from a wholesale perspective." Jacobson adds that she is the sole Canadian importer and agent for 98% of the products stocked in her store. — Written by Hattie Klotz
